Your intrepid guide...
Our goal - only 40 km away... The color in these first few shots is weird -
I had the white balance set wrong.
Just over that rise - yup, them's the Canadian Rockies!
That man-made pond hosts a mating pair of Canada geese every summer.
The bustling city of Leavitt - our turn-around for a 22km time trial.
Chief Mountain looms in the background...
I'm gonna ride a MTB down those sandstone cliffs one of these days!
Perfect road bike country - 12 foot wide shoulders, nice pavement, no cars!
One of the few times I have seen a reflection in this pond - it's usually whitecaps!
Yep, we're in cattle country!
Mountain View - aptly named!
Recently subdivided, these lots have a great view of the Belly River and the Rockies.
The Belly river. We're past Chief Mountain now, close to our goal!
These horses started running with me when I passed. When I stopped to take a picture,
they stopped, too! And when I took off, they raced me again! It was so cool!
At the park boundary. Still a little ways to go before we turn around...
Here we are at the Park gates, where we'll turn around and head back home.
Round trip is a bit over 80 km, a nice spring ride!
This is my old Centurion. It's my commuter/rain bike now.
